On January 2, 1987 I ate a hamburger that was so rare it was still mooing. The memory of that burger alone would be reason enough to keep me veg even if I didn't have 100 other reasons!

My boyfriend and I had been vegetarians for a few months, but I had become quite disturbed by some PETA videos of the dairy industry, and had been contemplating veganism.

But it took my boyfriend cooking fish one night (he's an excellent cook) for me to see the light. I could see the scales, part of the fin it used to swim when it was alive... I pushed away my fish and my milk I was drinking and have never gone back. My boyfriend became vegan, too and now we live happy, healthy, delicious lives, without contributing to animal cruelty.

In March I had barbequed chicken breast. My whole family had just gone vegan and we were using up the last of our animal products because we could either eat it or throw it away. The entire time I ate it I was disgusted because I couldn't get the image of dirty chickens with broken legs getting their throats slit and dunked into boiling water out of my head.

Boneless skinless grilled chicken. Chicken was the last to go. I could only eat it this way. The skin and bones digusted me in my last days. I soon discovered it wasn't any better that way either because the real thing I hated was chicken itself and no way would make it taste better or make me feel better about the thought of eating a dead animal.

1989 - I had just started calling myself vegetarian, had fish the night before. I visited my parents and they had some sweet bologna (or lebanon bologna), it was always a favorite of mine, so I had one slice. That was the last piece I chose to eat.

Since '89 - I have had a bite of pizza with the pepperoni hidden under the cheese, I threw up later.

No, yet as quickly as on US airlines, I ordered a vegan meal and have been given cream cheese sandwiches. i be attentive to a girl who ate mashed potatoes at a pot good fortune dinner and it contained Bacos (a vegan merchandise which resembles bits of 1st Baron Verulam yet is made out of soy). i don't think of that anybody could desire to extremely persuade her that Bacos replaced right into a vegetarian merchandise.

chicken wings. They were really greasy and there was something about eating them that so disgusted me that I couldn't stand the idea of ever eating meat again.

That was January 2002, and I haven't looked back.
