I believe in many things. Including the power of Mother Nature, the power of love, etc.

Are any of you old enought to remember the song called "I'm a Believer" from the 60's? It had absoloutly nothing to do with Christianity. I don't mind showing my age.

Thank you Sunny for making me smile.
As to where I got that idea, well it is a combination of all the questions asked of "believers" an a church I drove past a few days ago "Believers Church"
And I do need to apologize, I broke one of my own cardinal rules, Generalization. Obviously it does not apply to ALL Christians.

I get annoyed with Christians saying "I'm a believer", "I Have Faith"....and I'll usually respond with "I am to" or "I do to". Then I will proceed to tell them what I believe and they will listen patiently, but then resort to labelling me a "skeptic". So lets get this straight. I'm a "skeptic" because I don't believe in the same thing you do? Without missing a beat, they say "Well you don't believe in Christ".
I feel like saying "Last time I checked, Christ wasn't the only thing to believe or have faith in". But by then I know its no use.

Generalizations are rarely an excellent concept. yet, on the different hand, they're oftentimes in keeping with some middle of fact. working example, interior the U. S., there are various Christian businesses that are very aggressive in attempting to implement their version of morality, that's very restrictive and illiberal. Even oppressive. i do no longer think of which may be called "liberal" by any definition of the term. on the grounds that actuality, that's comprehensible why possible gererally evaluate non-Christians extra liberal than Christians.

I'm a Christian, and I've never thought that. Rather obviously, people who are not Christians have beliefs that mean a great deal to them. I respect that. There are believers of many different types. The term "believer" isn't exclusive to Christianity.

They should just call themselves Christians. Of course, a lot of non-Christians mistakenly call themselves that too so i dunno. They do believe in Christ but don't Muslims believe in something too? They need to distinguish Christianity from Islam or any other religion for that matter in a way because they can't coin the term for themselves. Sure, many believe. Even if you believe in the truth, other people will misunderstand you if you call yourself a believer. A believer in what? I ask. lol.

Self absorbed arrogance. They are in for a very rude shock when they die and realize that other nationalities that are obviously not Christians have been let in the spirit world as well. So much for their exclusive club.

It's the way the term is used. Believer is one who believes in Christ Jesus. Alot of people believe but are they born again ? Not all - their hearts are far from it.

Who knows. I refer to myself as non-Christian because I am far from a non-believer.

It doesn't matter what term is used, we take the heat for it or someone uses it for their own defined use. In any case, it is just a word. The reality is who follows after God through Jesus and who doesn't.
