No you cannot under most circumstances. HIV virus dies when in contact with oxygen gas. The concentration of virus in saliva is so small that it cannot be transmitted that way either. The chances are near 0% of infection risk.

Miniscule chance is probably the true answer. Medical folks will tell you that you cannot get HIV from shaking hands, kissing, or sharing utencils, but if you have open sores and fluids do make contact, then there must be some chance from those activities, even if it's 1-in-100,000.
Remember, while medical folks generally have the most knowledge, they tend to temper their answers to minimize excitement in the community.
I remember when the Bird Flu scare started, the medical community told everyone not to worry nor to take any precautions. In the meantime, the medical community always suited up around such illnesses and you were lucky if you could find any Tamiflu in stock (guess who was buying it up. Doctors). And a survey of medical personnel that asked what they would do in case of an outbreak showed that 40% would not show to work.
And the rest of us are not to worry?
Right.
Back to topic, don't agonize too much about the eating utencil scenario, but realize your odds of safety are more like 99.99%, not the 100% the masked-and-gloved medical folks would have you believe. It never hurts to take precautions.

I doubt it, I had a lover once whom I sucked at least a gallon of semen out of, he turned out to be HIV-POZ and I didn't get it. A morsel of food ought to be harmless, unless it is contaminated with E-Coli or Salmonella or something like that.

Theoretically, yes. Practically, damned near impossible. Don't sweat it, but if it makes you feel better, get tested.
