Also, does anyone know if there's any kind of soy/tofu bacon on the market? I love bacon, and it'll be really tempting for me if my stepdad makes some, so if anyone knows about a brand it would be really helpful to have it around the house.

Here are two great recipe sites. The first one is strictly vegan. It's got wonderful recipes on it. The second site is from that site and it's tested and approved. Most meat eaters can't even tell the difference. It's got the same color as real sausage and everything. Wonderful. I'm going to make it tommarow morning. Make patties not links though. The links don't turn out so great. They always turn out mishapen and burn more easily.

The third link has over 300 recipes on it. Vegan and vegetarian.
That should help you out.

The bacon thing good thinking ahead. I haven't eaten any of the fake prepared meats but I've heard good things about the morning star brand. I never liked bacon.

Also, I've tried pretty much all the veggie bacon out there, and by far the best one for me is Morningstar. I just put them on a cookie sheet and bake them for about 7 minutes at 350 degrees. It comes out nice and crispy without being overdone. To me, it tastes better then the "real" thing.

Here is a simple recipe:

On Jar or can of spaghetti sauce, some chopped mushrooms, a can of kidney beans, a can of black beans, a can of pinto beans, and a can of vegetable broth. Drain all the beans before you add them. It is a high protein meal! You can cook it in the slow cooker or in a pot on the stove. Just cook it until the mushrooms are tender.

Lightlife makes a tempeh bacon. You can find it at most grocery stores, especially natural foods stores.
