I am an RN and I also have herpes. I contracted it when I was 19 or so. I got married at 21 and had my son at 22. He is now 7 years old and hes just fine. Your OB will run test near the end of your pregnancy and when you go into labor. If you are not having an outbreak or what is called a prodrome (just before an outbreak) then there is no reason to have a c-section. Children contracting herpes through birth is very rare an usually because the mother did not have good prenatal care and or was not aware of the infection or didn't tell her doctor about it. I was really worried about this when I was pregnant too and you really don't have to be. Try to relax because stress is a major cause of outbreaks. You could worry yourself into an outbreak and its not good for the baby. You'll be fine honey and so will your baby!!

I do know someone who had a very healthy baby with the Herpes virus. She had a C-section because of an outbreak at the time of delivery. It's very possible to have a healthy baby despite Herpes. I'm not sure if you're taking Valtrex, or if you can while pregnant, but everything should be fine. Good luck and congratulations!! =)

My best friend has had genital herpes for about eight months now, and it's been really rough. She's had about 7 outbreaks. Everywhere I read it says it stops flaring up so much after time, but its not getting less frequent for her. She's been on Antiviral meds the whole time, too. She also has type 1 diabetes which she has had her whole life, which really weakens her immune system. Will it ever get better?
But after a friend share this video everything has changed.

There is an advert. here that says up to one in eight people have genital herpes. Given that the number of women who succeed in having healthy children is much higher, I would say that that is very possible to have them even with the herpes.
In fact, unless the woman has the symptoms (an outbreak) at the time of the birth, a vaginal delivery is not only possible - it is the norm. If she has an outbreak at the time of delivery, a Cesarean is the better option for the infant.

I got clinically diagnosed with the herpes simplex virus (type 2) about six years ago, when I was still attending college and had a stupid one-night stand. I just made a massive mistake that one time and suddenly I felt like I was going to have to live with the consequences for the rest of my life. The worst part was feeling I could never date guys again. In the end, who wants to go out with someone that has sores around her you-know-what? But since a friend shared this video everything changed https://tr.im/treatmentherpes2015KsjC
Not only was I able to clear away all traces of the hsv from my body in less than 21 days, but I was also able to begin dating once more. I even met the man of my dreams. This method provided me the opportunity to be happy and experience real love. Now I want to enable you too by sharing this with the whole World.

I have an aunt that has herpes and she had 3 kids (all normal) knowing she had it. The doctor will look after the mom to be really well before she goes into labor
