I'd say anything dairy is bad for us.
I can't think of anything good to say about it.

Is Cheese Good For You

All foods in moderation are not harmful. Like the previous post, cheese has been a staple of culture and diet for centuries. Good qualities are flavor, protein, calcium
"bad" qualities could be fat content and flavor as well. Some cheeses (like bleu cheese) are turn-offs for many people.

While cheese has does of calcium and contains a good amoutn of protein, does contain alot of saturated fats. With that said, I wouldn't necessarily say cheese is "bad" for you, but if you are trying to lose weight (or not put any on) I eat it very sparingly or use fat-free.

It can be both. Cheese has protein and calcium which is good, but, it can have a high percentage of fat which is bad.

If you like cheese and want to eat it look for low fat varieties, if you don't want to eat cheese look for other sources of calcium and protein. Vegans do not eat cheese and find other foods to give them all the nutrients they need.

cheddar cheese (or any cheese for that matter) is about 72% fat...see http://www.nutritiondata.com/facts-C00001-01c2008.html for exact calorie information and nutrition breakdown regarding different serving sizes.

There are low fat and fat free versions of cheddar available...but there you're trading fat for chemicals which is just as nasty in my opinion.

Cheese is made from milk, and is high in calcium, however it can cause indigestion and bowel trouble if you are sensitive to lactose products (stuff made from milk).

hope that helps

*cheers*

Eating dairy products supports animal cruelty.
Cattle farmers say they provide animal welfare...that is 'til they kill them.
Cows only get welfare while they're producing milk and making the farmer a profit.
Think about it, get the facts.

Dairy products, including cheese, really aren't good for you. The calcium in dairy is overshadowed by the fat and protein. Excess protein causes you to lose calcium.

You could try soy cheeses. Many of them have casein, so they aren't vegan, but they aren't as fatty as dairy cheese and have no lactose.

It does contain fat but it also contains protein. It is good for you because you need dairy products in your life, well you dont need it, sorry vegans. I am a veggie and I eat cheese and i find myself very energized when it goes along with all the other protein i eat.

Depends on the cheese.

It's good if you don't eat too much! it is high in fat, but also high in protein and calcium. It's kind of a double-edged sword.
