I'm working on a 3 month contract and only a week to go. I haven't liked my job for a few weeks and displayed it in a negative way by not caring much and arriving up to 1 hour late in the morning. Should I quit or just work the extra week.

I'm also leaving the country after this job so it is causing the experience in this country to be soured. I barely enjoy a minute of work during the day.

Today I got a warning about lateness and using the internet too much, even though only a week go to.

It is a fairly well-paid job.

I was employed because I have specalist professional skills that nobody else has in the area, so they still need me.

My work area is very poor as it is near noisey equipment that emits some fumes. Would a good employer give their works such a bad work area?

Tomorrow's the day - quit or stay. I hope I have the courage to quit

Would you enjoy knowing that you do what you say you will do? Or do you believe that every moment of your life should be fun and if it is not, then you are alleviated of responsibilities you willingly accepted for yourself?

You signed a 3 month contract.

Did you not promise to provide 3 full months of your service to the company you contracted with? And for that, they would in turn pay you well?

You seem to be oblivious to the fact that in work, you generate a reputation that follows you.

In 5 years, do you want to be known as a person who has integrity and does as promised? Or do you want to be known as a flake who will not fulfil obligations unless it is "enjoyable"

I think that a question of whether you should fulfil your obligation on a 3 month contract does not indicate anything positive.

The fact that you are bothering to ask the question makes me wonder if you are as flippant as you sound about it? Most people would just walk out or say "sod it". The fact that it bothers you makes me wonder why???? I'd stick it for the next week. Show them that you are better than they think you are. Give it your best shot, and walk away with your head held high. Even if you are leavig the UK at least should you want to come back some time , hey who knows, they may remember you and you may need a reference/job.

You should work the extra week. If you are contracting then I assume you get paid by the hour? It will be worth it for (a) the money, and (b) going forward in interviews, you won't have to explain why you left your contract early, as you will have completed it.

I see you work in Financial Services - don't suppose this is BoNY related by any chance?

That’s really unprofessional. Sometimes, in a grown up world (and I’m only 21), you have to do things that you don’t get so much pleasure from. Especially when you know it’s just temporary. If I were you, I would really improve myself during this last week and hopefully your employer will still give you a nice reference.

No job is enjoyable unless u put ur heart and soul into it .Instead of wasting ur employer resource i.e he is putting on training u its better to leave as u are not serious with ur work .
In my personal opinion u should ve been serious with ur work because what ever job u are doing u always learn something from it and that learning can help u in ur future .
Best of luck

If you are planning on leaving the country anyways then leave. Leave a message on someone's voicemail at work tonight saying that you won't be in so that they can least work around your absence ahead of time.

You have one week left and you are thinking of quitting?

Buck up dude. Do your job, do it well, and show some pride.

They are paying you good money to do a job - do it! Have some integrity.
