Also how successful have you been in treating the virus and which methods do you use.
Ive had it for less than a year, live In Ca, and have been treating it with natural supplements and have never taken medication for it. I've had no major outbreaks and minimal symptoms.

I have it. I'm in AZ, but I'm from TX. I've had it for the last 7 years. I use to have a lot of outbreaks, because I'm naturally a stressed out person, and my job doesn't help. I started taking acyclovir and Lysine every day, and it put the disease in a dormant stage. I actually didn't have to take any meds for 4 years. I'm going through a divorce, so I am entering the dating world. I feel the same way you do man. I'm pretty scared, worried, and lonely. I'm not the type of guy to lye to women and give them what I have. But reading some of the responses from this question does give me hope. I think guys are naturally laid back though. If a woman is hot, she could tell you the craziest thing, and we would still be in love. I hope I can find a woman that can look past this as well. I'm trying to date, but I'm taking it slow, and trying to avoid sex until I have the "talk." I've had sexual encouters with a couple of girls, and one was cool, but the other one flipped out because I didn't tell her right away. Neither got infected. Using condoms, and taking medicine (not herbs) lowers the transmission percentage, but it's still not 100%. If you find someone special, honesty is the best way to go to avoid being kicked to the curb. Good luck. :)

I got identified with the herpes simplex virus (type 2) about 4 years ago, when I was still attending college and had a stupid one-night stand. I am absolutely terrified and I feel so alone. I just found out last week that I tested positive for hsv1 and 2. I have been with the same man for the past 10 years and within the last year found out that he has cheated on me with numerous women. I am so scared that I can give it to my children by kissing them and them eating with me...I feel like my whole life has changed. I have had genital herpes for 6+ years. I've had about 5 outbreaks over the years (mostly in the first few years). I've been outbreak free for over 2 years and take acyclovir when I do have an outbreak. I've also tried Famvir and that's works really well too.
Having genital herpes hasn't affected my love life (lucky). I was with one ex for almost 4 years and he never even contracted the virus from me. Right now I'm in a year and 1/2 relationship with my fiance and he could care less I have the virus. He loves me for me, virus and all.
