For the past week i have been having some discomfort and mild pain right in the middle of my chest or on the right side of my chest. The first type usually occurs when i am lying down or sitting. Like there is some pressure in the middle of my chest and i also feel my heart beating hard.

The second type on the right side of my chest but still close to the middle, is different. There is discomfort when i breathe, especially when i exhale. I don't experience both at the same time but both cause my heart to beat or palpitate harder than usual.

I'm guessing this has something to do with my heart since it makes my heart palpitate and i am also a heavy smoker, I smoke 2 or three packs a day and have one beer with dinner.

no there isn't pain in my left arm. the first few times i sat and waited for pain because i thought i was having a heart attack but it never came.

Also, i am not panicking from the palpitations, i quite like how they feel actually.

Chest pains can be caused by a number of things, stress, gas, anxiety, and then again could be the heart. The only way to know for sure is to go the the dredded doctor. Get well, I'm sure someone out there needs you.

First of all by any means if you feel like it is your heart you need to take that very serious and see a Dr.

I have gone into the E.R because of chest pains and found out that it was gas I know that sound strange but yes this was about 6 years ago and then I also found out at that time that I had gall stones.

I would highly suggest you getting on some vitamins and minerals here are a few sites for you to visit

Why Minerals?

Minerals are amazing! They're amazing because even in infinitesimal amounts these nutrients can produce unexplainable, beneficial changes in body chemistry. Minerals are nutrients required by the body to help facilitate a multitude of biochemical and physiologic processes necessary for the maintenance of life. Some of these processes include supporting the health of organs, bones, tissue and the immune system. Minerals, like vitamins, are not synthesized in our bodies; therefore we must acquire them from outside sources.
Vemma's Essential Minerals provides what the modern, convenience-driven diet may be lacking: 65 major, trace and ultra-trace minerals in an ionic liquid form. The minerals are extracted from nutrient-dense plant vegetation that has been undisturbed for thousands of years. Then they are broken down into a bioavailable (body-ready) ionic state. This means the minerals are reduced to the smallest component that minerals can exist in and still retain their physical properties and are suspended into a completely dissolved liquid form. The result is a 100% ionic liquid mineral product that is easy for the body to use. This is important because as we age, the ability of the body to handle minerals declines, so body-ready minerals can be very helpful.

And, on a different note, because of the natural kiwi and strawberry flavors in Vemma's Essential Minerals, this beneficial liquid provides a delicious taste treat!

No this may not be your heart, but it very well could be and unless you get to an ER for a full work up you could be classified as a fool at your funeral. It is possible that the pain could be due to something wrong with your respiratory system (your at very high risk due to smoking). This could also indicate a blood clot or possibly even bruised ribs/sternum. This is all speculation though and the best thing for you is to go directly to the ER, do not pass go do not collect $200.

easiest way to find that out is to go to the doctor next time it happens. It could be your heart, anexity, or plurisy.
Heart doctor takes care of,
Anexity, calm your nerves down
plurisy drink hot black tea, with o sugar added. until it stops should take a day or two.

Could be the heart.

You need to seek medical attention asap.

It could be a gas pocket too.
Too many things to list, but this needs to be addressed to a Dr.

I think your doctor is the person to ask these question of.
See him soon. The sooner you go the easier it will be for him to help you, and the more likely you are to get better.
