Sushi is a great way to lose weight for the simple fact that it is fish at its freshest, at least it should be in any place that you order it from which accounts for the price. Even day old sushi is questionable for eating. Salad is good, but you also need some carbs to help with moving the food through your digestive system. The faster the food moves through your system, the faster your metabolism, and the quicker you lose excess fat/weight.

Some of the fastest metabolism of the people I know have as many as 4 bowel movements in one day. This is the reason they can eat as much as they want. It also help your immune system since you are constantly hungry and feeding your body all sorts of food. Just think of a car - and all the food is high-test fuel.

excersize is why japanese stay slim, they eat alot of fried food and sushi is really not an every day food. fish and rice and pickles are. you need to be balanced in what you eat and make sure your eating enough-eating enough calories is actualy going to help you loose weight in a healthy way and not in a starving way. do cardio atleast at min. 4 times a week and strength training. what you want is to change how your body metabolizes food. if you're insistant on having sushi everyday, make sure you have proper supliments. watch out for the salt too. eating salad at every meal is going to help keep you feeling full. don't pour the dresing on either. make sure you measure it.

Sushi is not a bad food - lots of carb and protein with minimal fat. But be careful of

-Soy sauce. The loosely packed rice can soak up a lot when you dip the roll. The express route to high blood pressure and water retention....

-High glycemic index carbs. Sushi rice is the ultimate in processed white rice - the GI is close to 100 - higher than white bread - like eating straight table sugar. If you need the energy right away, great, but if you have a problem with blood glucose, watch out.

-Sanitation, sanitation, sanitation. For this reason I avoid all uncooked salmon. I'm as suspicious of it as I would be of raw chicken.

You would probably lose weight short-term, but not long-term. You may want to check out SparkPeople.com. It's a free website to assist you in losing weight and keeping it off. They have recipes and tips to keep you going throughout the day. I find it to be very helpful. And the best part is that it's FREE!

Good luck!

You will not loose weight by eating sushi & salad. You will loose weight by eating just salad.

You probably could. I wouldn't suggest it though.

We made sushi with cucumbers sticks, nori sprinkles and mayo.
Sushi is the rice mixed with vinegar.
In our case, we didn't mix the vinegar into the rice.
But we spread the rice onto a sheet of nori. (seaweed)
You can put anything into your sushi roll.

You still would need to get your vitamins.

1. yes you would (short term)
2. you would not get all vitamins, minerals, fats, protiens for the day (rda-recommended daily allowance)
3.its a costly and monotonous way of going about.
try having more salads with your main meals and reduce the amount of fats and carbohydrates from the meal. have less dressings on your salads.
best of luck
