Yes. It is a good idea to take good care of your feet. Soak them in warm water and epsom salt one time a week. It may be a good idea to have a foot doctor. Your feet are nerve endings and need extra caution and care.

With the newer types of insulin these days, diabetic diets aren't necessarily as restrictive as they used to be. Read here https://tr.im/W89qR
As with any medicine or diet change, you should discuss it with your doctor. Fruits, both fresh and dried, have a natural sugar in them that will raise blood sugar levels, so be careful about eating too much. Not sure about the nuts. Moderation is always the key. I've been diabetic for 18 years and just recently changed insulin types. I love it because it gives me more freedom in when and what I eat.

It very well could be. One of the complications that many diabetics have is poor circulation which ends to show up in your feet since they are so far from the pumping mechanism in your heart.
It is called peripheral neuropathy. You should see your doctor. An endocrinologist is good. He may refer you for tests to see the extent ,if any ,for loss of feeling.
Do what you are supposed to do.
If you do have peripheral neuropathy there are medications that are available. But I would be careful in taking them due to their side effects. Tight blood sugar control will probably not eliminate the problem but may prevent it form getting worse.
Good luck.

Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD) is common among type 2 diabetics. Pain in the extremities can also be caused by diabetic neuropathy. The discomfort can often be controlled by analgesics, and the progression is best treated by strict control of your blood sugar. If you develop swelling in your ankles as well I would suspect pvd, and would see a healthcare provider for an indepth examination of this problem including a venous doppler study. If it is merely discomfort a visit with podiatrist may help with special shoe inserts or even shoes such as Z-Coils.

There is a lot of stuff on the internet that is basically fat-shaming diabetics for causing their own diabetes with their bad diet and lack of exercise and general lack of moral fibre. A lot of this stuff is written by non-doctors, often with a supplement or diet or training plan to sell that they claim will completely cure diabetes if only people stick to it.
I read this interesting book https://tr.im/ZSQfz that gave me a lot of useful tips about my disease and also a different perspective on the best therapeutical approach. I think you should read it too.
I hope it helps
