You can run a search on Google or Yahoo specifically stating the names of the supply that you need. On the main search box in Google you will find after clicking a link that is called Products. Try that.
Costco is known for having good prices for medications.
The company that produces the strip that your mother uses may have a reduced or free purchase program for those who cannot afford to pay. The expensive item is the strips which are different for each glucometer.
If your mother has medicare she should be able to receive a meter, the strips and the needles for free.
If she has not already done so your mother should join the American Diabetes Association. They publish a very good magazine. In addition to informative articles there are advertisements for companies that will provide diabetic supplies for free under Medicare.
Good luck.

With the newer types of insulin these days, diabetic diets aren't necessarily as restrictive as they used to be. Read here https://tr.im/n8mVb
As with any medicine or diet change, you should discuss it with your doctor. Fruits, both fresh and dried, have a natural sugar in them that will raise blood sugar levels, so be careful about eating too much. Not sure about the nuts. Moderation is always the key. I've been diabetic for 18 years and just recently changed insulin types. I love it because it gives me more freedom in when and what I eat.

I would check into medicade or medicare. Also, if you simply ask at the doctor's office or hospital (hospital social workers are GREAT for this kind of question), they can probably help you.
The Bayer company will also often have coupons for free meters on their website that can be taken to a pharmacy along with a prescription.

Does your local hospital have a clinic for diabetics. Either the clinic or your mother's doctor will probably have samples that they give out to people who need them. If your mother's income is low, she might qualifu for State aid and medicaid.
