Here are some ideas:

1. A variety of German and European Beers
2. Boil brats and other sausages in beer prior to grilling (a good combo is beer, onion, and garlic) Plumps them up and makes them juicy!
3. Cheese platters with a variety of cheeses, including traditional German fare and some of your favorites as well.
4. Saurkraut with granny smith apples and brown sugar as a side and to top your sausages
5. German Potato Salad
6. Apple Streudal

Don't forget the mustards!~

If you go online to German Deli.com, you can actually order an Oktoberfest Package which includes everything!

I went to Oktoberfest, and they had roasted chickens. Not big ones, but little ones like cornish game hens. Try to put some of them in the oven with some oil. I am not sure of time or temp, but they go well with the beer. Or you could go with the brats too. And maybe some big soft pretzels?

BEER, lol
Seriously, get those small spicy (smoked pre-cooked) sausage links and roll them up in the crescent roll dough you can buy in the refrigerator section. Bake until roll is golden. Yummy sausagy appetizers. Dip them in mustard sauce, and you are done.

An assortment of Kase (cheese) is always very oktoberfesty, and also kartoffelsalat, which is a spicy german potato salad. You can serve the potato salad in little tiny cupcake cups and sprinkle with a couple crumbs of bacon and some fresh dill. easy. Also, some pumpernickel bread for the kase platter.

Get some brats, sauerkraut, sliced apples and put in a dish, cover with foil and bake at 350 for one hour - Provide good bread and serve. If you want you can cut down the brats and serve the sauerkraut apple dish to the side.
