I feed my (vegan) kids oatmeal very often so I have to get creative about it.
Good sweeteners-
Agave, maple syrup, molasses, turbinado (raw) sugar, brown rice syrup, stevia, xylitol ,maple crystals, maple powder, rapidura, barley malt syrup, date sugar (pricy though), organic fruit juice concentrates,
Things you can add-
Peanut butter, pumpkin pie mix (my personal favorite), dried fruits (raisins and cranberries are great for this), bananas, pumpkin spice, carob chips, nutmeg, dates, coconut milk, almond extract, almond butter...
The possibilities are endless... for more vegan oatmeal recipes see the link.

Try cutting up part of an apple into your oatmeal and mixing cinnamon in, too. The combination will give your oatmeal lots of flavor (without needing sugar).

i latterly in comparison the fast oats to the previous-formed and nutritionally the stats are the comparable, the distinction in interior the cooking time. metallic decrease oats are super familiar, yet i've got not researched them. so a techniques as including flavor, pb&j is remarkable in oatmeal. Even my choosy 3 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous likes it. once you attempt to consume healthful, verify you employ a sugar unfastened jam or jelly. additionally, a million/2 a banana, mashed in oatmeal provides it an incredible candy style without including to any extent further sugar. My dad (uncertain if he nonetheless does this) used to consume the oatmeal undeniable with a fried egg on desirable. It replaced into rather solid. there is maximum of undemanding techniques to function style to oatmeal, the only limits is your mind's eye. (not announcing you have not have been given one, lol)

Hain's sugars are not processed with bone char, so their brown sugar is vegan-friendly.
Sucanat might also work, as it's a fairly dark brown.
Toss in some fruits as well--raisins, berries, bits of chopped apple.

maple syrup is my favorite thing to put in my oatmeal, but sometimes it's fun to get creative with other syrups. check out the aisle where the maple syrup is and there are several fruit syrups, like blueberry, strawberry, etc. it will mix in better than jelly and will give it a different flavor than having maple all the time. :)

I chop an apple and cook it with the oatmeal. I also add cinnamon, vanilla and maple syrup or stevia.

I noticed that all the suggestions tended to the sweet side. Nothing wrong in that of course, but why not make oatmeal with a savory twist? Imagine you're making a pilaf or stew...use your imagination. You can also use oatmeal to thicken soup...

I like honey, there is mixed views in the vegan community if that is okay. So if you are okay with honey you might want to try that.
Edit: maple syrup is also real good and should be vegan and is very sugar like.

here in scotland we add salt (although not very good for health!). also, agave syrup is vegan as is maple syrup. I can find vegan jams (jellys) in my local supermarket and I think there are alot of vegan sugar brands.
