I think it's just another excuse for people to try and ridicule a lifestyle other than their own. If people were so concerned with being cool and fitting in they would follow the majority of the population not contradict it. As a vegetarian I have encountered more discrimination than ever. I never will understand why people can't accept another lifestyle, especially one that has a Nobel purpose. I hate how people stereotype to. So many people say that every vegetarian they've met was rude or "militant" but honestly in my whole life I've only ever personally met one and the only reason I know she's a vegetarian is because I noticed she didn't have meat in her fridge not because she told me. So I find it very hard to believe that all these vegetarians are flocking to these anti-vegetarian people, making it known they are vegetarian, and then being so rude. Personally I think people are making up those lines to try and victimize themselves and get people to feel bad for them. However rangercowboy is right. I'm a vegetarian in the US military and it is hard. Thank god MRE's have about a million calories. They only have about six vegetarian meals and it's hard to get your hands on them because people love them more than the ones with meat. But I made it five years as a vegetarian in the military so it's not imposible.

I've come across some people who said they were vegetarian because they thought it sounded cool. They weren't really veggie. The ate meat when they felt like it, or when it didn't really look like meat, or when there was just a little in a salad, or when... The list is too long. Long story shorth, they weren't vegetarian. Some people say it's for their helth: they still eat meat from time to time too. Or at least fish.
All real veggies I ever met were veggies for the right reasons: for the animals.
Go vegan!

I do believe many become vegetarian for the label but, most I know have better reasons. Just remember that your opinion on the matter is not better (or worse) than anyone else's so don't bash the carnivores. I personally don't believe animals have rights so I will eat meat but, I respect your decision not to.

I don't know about the label, but I do some people (particularly in their teens or early 20s) who become veggie either to fit in with friends or who do it to rebel against their parents.
NOTE: I am not saying all or even most, just some.

actually, man was meant to be omnivorus, meaning we eat meat and veggies. Being vegetarian or not, is a personal choice. If you make the choice because someone else tells you too, that isn't a good reason. If your own convictions say that you should be a vegetarian, good for you. Just don't condem others who choose to eat meat. I could easily live on veggies if I could get em fresh year round. But I also enjoy seafood and meat.

Because I am against the conditions the animals live in, and the cruelty of the slaughter. It also typically makes you skinny.... which is just a plus of course.

People become vegetarians for many different reasons. Your reason is as valid as anyone elses.
I think you are wrong about the teeth though, out incisor and molar teeth are precisely designed for the mastication of tough fibrous foods like meat. The fact that we can digest meat so efficiently is also a clear sign that we are in fact designed to be meat eaters. The fact that we don't have to is a bonus.
