Most definitely see your doctor, or at least for the time being, call the office and speak with the doctor's nurse practitioner or head nurse.

Diabetes runs in my family and I have a diabetic kitty, so I have done some research on this illness.

BG of 42 is way too low, and the fact you have lost a considerable amount of weight, your glyburide dosage may need to be adjusted. I did a quick search on glyburide and it does come in lower dose pills. Better yet, with your weight loss, you may be able to control your diabetes with diet alone!

What you suffered was probably hypoglycemia, which is a condition were the BG drops too low. Hypoglycemia can be as dangerous as hyperglycemia.

Yesterday, before you passed out, did you eat a meal and not have taken your meds on an empty stomach? I know eating regular meals and snacks is also important to help regulate the BG levels.

Please contact your doctor. Hope you feel better!

One sparrow doesn't make a summer. So one test doesn't tell any thing. When you over eat or eating sugary foods can also show high blood sugar levels. If you have other symptoms like too much craving for drinking water, too much urination, getting tired easily etc are symptoms for diabetes. Since you now want to know why this high blood sugar level even during fasting, consult an endocrinologist. He will let you know what tests you have to take. For a normal person the blood sugar levels hover around 70 to 100. If the blood sugar level is above 140 during fasting he can be considered on the verge of diabetes. At your age if if you become diabetic it is type 2. There is no cure for diabetes. If untreated it leads to organ malfunctions and even death. But if treated in time it can be contained. Balanced and nutritious food, exercises and medicines are the remedies for it.

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.

Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

my stepdad is a diabetic and he's kinda old and sometimes his sugar would shoot way up or get really low and sometimes he would pass out, im not sure about if your sugar gets high but if it gets really low your supposed to drink like a glass of orange juice or eat a PB and J sandwhich and then check your sugar level again and then if its still really low then u should call your doctor or go to the emergency room.....it would also be nice to have someone around at all times that can help you with your meds and stuff

Too low, Too Low. Go see your doctor for a change of medication and eat something. Have someone else take you too as you don't want to pass out while driving.

yup, call the doc, after you have some juice....
losing that much weight, you may not even need the glyburide anymore, as evidenced by the low sugar, which by the by is dangerously low.

If its the first time this has happened, and you are fully recovered, then you should visit your doctor, but it is not an emergency

If your doctor is a GP, you might want to find yourself an endocrinologist, who would be better qualified to handle Diabetes issues.
