What can all the different power lasers do?

Question

What kind of power laser can burst baloons etc. and what kind of level do certain things become easier to do.

Can some one help. Sorry if it's not clear, but what do different power lasers do?

even a basic 1mW laser is more powerful than looking at the sun

Lasers are available at all sorts of power levels.

Even low power lasers can blind you .. although the one in your CD/DVD drive is safe enough (unless you manage to get it out and poke it into your eye)

Needless to say, anything powerful enough to burst a balloon can for sure cause blindness (and would be banned i.e. illegal to buy or sell in UK)
