I started on Metformin & Avandia, had to discontinue Avandia because of water retention. Now I have no energy & muscle weakness, & get short of breath, with the least exercise.
Could these be side effects of the Metformin?
I've read that they are;-{ what's next?

Those are symptoms of lactic acidosis which is a rare byproduct of using Metformin and is often associated with consuming alcohol while using the medication. There should be a warning on the Metformin bottle saying not to do that. If you are NOT drinking, and are STILL getting those symptoms, then discontinue the Metformin immediately. If you are drinking and diabetic, then..... wise up.

I've been using Metformin for nearly four years with occasional diarrhea and no other side effects whatsoever. But then, I don't drink.... anymore.

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.

Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

I would recommend you ask your doctor about Januvia since you are off the Avandia. I really like it and I am feeling much better with it. It is new but it can help with weight loss. How is your blood sugar levels and your diet? They could be affecting it as well. I know when I started taking Metformin (1000mg/twice daily) in February of this year, I was so weak and had been well before taking the medication that I couldn't even stay awake during the day. As the weeks went by I began feel better slowly and even lost some weight. I don't know how long you have been on metformin but I believe it will get better for you. Best wishes.

my husband a few years ago was put on Gluchopage, and experienced the same problems, and then went off his meds , which was a mistake of course- now he is on Starlix- no side effects- only had low blood sugar once. Not sure the Starlix lowers his glucose as well though- so he is taking some cinnamon too- which seems to help.

Reduce the stress. Your stress hormone cortisol is usually activated by extremely low-calorie diet programs, intense training, lack of snooze and day-to-day worries, which results in a spike in glucose levels with your blood. More worryingly, it can promote blocked arteries and fat develop around your internal organs, putting you susceptible to diabetes and heart disease. Really the only prescription for this is to… relax.
