Amy's (www.amys.com) is a great vegetarian foods company that has a number of gluten-free products. I see they have a gluten-free vegan burger listed, but I have yet to see it in the grocery store yet. VegWeb (www.vegweb.com) might have some great gluten-free recipes for all sorts of things, and all the recipes are vegan.

I am celiac as well, and also allergic to many other foods. I make "burgers" from grilled portabello mushrooms caps, or a combination of beans, lentils, mashed potato and tapioca starch. Just blend the ingredients together, adding a little of the tapioca starch (or cornstarch or arrowroot) to bind it all. Sometimes, I add a little ground flax seed softened in warm water (it makes an egglike consistancy, great for baking and binding) Just form it into patties, and fry in a little oil. If you like, email me and I will give you info for my yahoo group for celiac and food allergies-we have loads of recipes and support. By the way, she is probably not actually allergic to meat, but to the wheat and/or soy that is fed to animals raised for food, or the "enhancers" and wheat based sanitizers injected into the meat. Be wary of farm raised fish as well, as it is often fed an unnatural diet of wheat as well. Wild caught fish is usually better tolerated. This is often a missing link for most celiacs-some of us veterans sorted it out the hard way!

Have you tried Boca burgers?

Veggie burgers obviously don't contain meat, but there's a fairly large chance that they do contain ingredients that a person on a gluten-free diet shouldn't eat.

Your best bet would to bring a list of ingredients that your daughter can't eat and go to your local grocery store and look for meat free and gluten free burgers. They're often located in the frozen items isles and/or in the produce section.
