There are two reason that the baby might be born early. One is that if the baby is too large, they will do a c-section early in order to avoid serious birth trauma.
The second is that high blood sugar damages the small vessels of the placenta, which the fetus relies on for nutrition and oxygen. If there is evidence that the placenta is not functioning well, they will also do a c-section in order to avoid fetal demise.

Controlling your blood sugar is of the utmost importance in order to have a healthy baby. If you do that, you may go to full term.

I had gestational diabeties with both my babies. They were not born premature maybe what your Doctor means is if your baby gets to big you will have to deliver a little early. Not so early it is considered premature. My first one was huge they induced me 1 week prior to my due date. Ask your Doctor why he says premature its the first i've heard of it! Good luck and watch your sugar.

Hi I'm a type 2 diabetic so I had gestational diabetes throughout my whole pregnancy. I'm sure you know that the key is to balance your BG (blood glucose) levels and to keep them steady. I gave birth at 37 weeks which is just at term and he was underweight but healthy, weighing in at 4.14lbs I suggest asking your doctor why he believes that you'll be giving birth prematurely.

Yeah!! you're purely wonderful. Your often used practitioner might have pronounced a situation in the experience that your blood sugar replaced right into a undesirable element. I did have gestational diabetes with my first being pregnant and seventy 9 replaced into super!

My daughter is law is 34 weeks with gestational diabetes, and she was told the baby is larger than normal. It is very important to continue to try to controll you're blood sugar as much as possible, for you're health and the baby's If you do it should be okay.

actually, I had gestational diabetes too, my son weighed in at 10 lbs 9ozs and was two weeks overdue. So I am not sure what you doctor is basing his diagnosis on for prematurity.
you may want to get a second opinion.
