What makes some people want to eat nothing that has anything to do with animals? Something horrible that happened at a young age? Forced on to them by vegan parents? Scared of meat? What?

I watched a troll eat a goat in front of me. It was scary. You aren't by any chance a troll? Trolls are scary and mean.

For some people, it is the belief that taking/using anything from an animal is wrong and not our right. For some, it can be a matter of health.

The reason to go to veganism can be because even though you may not eat meat, the dairy you are eating is still feeding the meat industry. And many people don't eat cheese because cheese is made with enzymes that come from, I think, it's the animal's stomach, so something still had to die to make the cheese. There are cheeses that use vegetable rennet instead, and there is no difference in taste that I noticed. There is also the treatment of the animal to consider even if you are not killing it. And for some, that matters a great deal.

One of my cousin's children (she's 11) eats very little meat and hasn't since she was a little child. I don't remember what triggered it, but I think she found out where bacon came from, and it grossed her out.

There are many reasons. Some religious: Seventh Day Advenist, Buddhist, Hari Christnas and some Hindus do not eat meat.

Some believe it is more healthy because meat contrains fat and cholestoral. There is NO such thing as cholestoral in a plant based diet! Others like me think this is wrong because meat gives you protein and iron which humans need.

Some just love animals so much they don't think it is right to kill them for food. For them meat is "murder". They think of a cow or pig in the same way they think of their dog fluffy and can not stand the thought of killing them.

Still others do not like the smell/taste/texture of meat.

Some are environmentalist and claim that meat takes up too many resources. Those are mostly extreme liberals lol.

Yet others think that all of the energy that humans need comes from the sun and that the sun can only be "captured" by plant based foods. These tend to be crack pots. lol

Some believe that humans are vegetarians by design and not omnivores. They say that humans do not have the proper teeth nor digestive track to "process" meat properly.

Lastly some may have seen some movies and/or documentaries (on tv) about factory farming and feel that farming animals for food is "barbaric". I have seen one such documentary and I did not eat meat for almost a year after that. It actually was pretty gross!

There are those that are very sick and think that wheat grass juice and all kinds of other mumbo jumbo is going to "cure" them. lol

I'll have a shot of Jack Daniels NOT wheat grass juice thank you. lol

Some people are vegetarians because of their beliefs in cruelty to animals or just because of health reasons. Cutting out meats & increasing grains will reduce your fat intake and boost your fiber intake. Some vegetarians even lean toward buying only organic foods. And there are different kinds of vegan lifestyles; some will eat only vegetables, beans, grains, etc. While others still eat eggs, milk, and cheese. I think it's almost always an animal's rights point-of-view rather than the healthier lifestyle that will make someone turn to a vegetarian lifestyle

veganism is good because when you are vegetarian you still feeding the meat industrey dairey cows are fed ground up cows and blood fed to the young.

pigs are in cages to small to move around in they never see daylight.

mad cow disease it doesn't show in humans till 10 to 20 years later. not only can it transfer through hamburgers it can run through milk. just as i said before often cows are ground up and fed to other cows that means that if they had mad cow disease they are fed to 5-10 other cows and since it doesn't show in cows for years later the meat industrie won't know until someone dies

vegans live on average 7-13 years more than there meat-eating counterparts. unless you eat vegan junk food you cant get fat the only thing you could get a litle fat on is avacodos.

it's cruel to eat humans is it not? and whats the difference between that and eating a cow acctualy humans would be much cleaner.

you could use one acre of land for 65 THOUSAND pounds of potato's or 1 pound of beef.

did you know that 80 percent of asians are alergic to darie and 100 percent of african/african americans are alergic to milk.

go to a slaughter house if your not sick to your stomich continue to eat meat.

don't believe me? check the facts there all true.

Sheesh, it's not like I gave up chocolate!

I'm the only vegan in my family (not even a vegetarian among them). I wasn't scarred by anything that would make me run screaming for a vegan lifestyle. I made a decision that it's the right thing to do.

Ethical or dietary reasons or a combination of both.

IMO most of the most rabid vegans are self-isolating souls looking for a cause to espouse or a community of like-minded persons to belong to. I do believe they are obsessive-compulsive and the vegan lifestyle feeds that disorder very nicely.

Vegans that have no other agenda than ethical or dietary reasons and avoid espousing someone else's ethical or dietary agenda just go about their business in a "normal" way. But those kinds of vegans are few and far between.

Yes horrible things happened to all people who think different from you. How small is the world you live in ? You really need to read more or something.

Why be catholic?
Maybe because people can choose to believe what they want.
People decide to be vegan for plenty of reasons. (ethical, environmental, spiritual, some people just don't like meat, health reasons, just to name a few)

Some people just believe that it's not right to kill animals for us to eat when we can live perfectly healthy lives without meat.
