There actually is a way to do this. Start small, and give yourself a certain amount of tofu every day, then the next week increase the amount, and so on. There are also many things you can do to the tofu to make it taste better; you can fry it, marinate it in your favorite seasonings, dip it in your favorite sauce....so many!

Tofu doesn't have much of a taste of its own. It essentially takes on the flavor of whatever it's cooked with.

It's not exactly a quick fix, but the best way to learn to love tofu is to learn to cook. Most likely, the reason you think you don't like tofu is that you have had some bad dishes or recipes.

I recommend looking around on line or at local veggie restaurants (if you're lucky enough to have any), and picking really good, highly recommended recipes. This is the best way to truly get the most enjoyment out of tofu. Good luck!

Tofu is really about how you prepare it.
There's so many different types & dishes it's really impossible to decide you don't like it.
One day, you'll have an amazing dish and discover it's tofu. :-)

Here's a simple recipe that will start you off, it's very un-tofu like:

1 piece Firm tofu, drained.
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup rice wine
1 tbs miso sauce
1 clove garlic, sliced
1 tsp brown sugar
Salt & pepper

Slice the tofu into 1/4 inch slices. Lay in a single layer on a deep plate.

Mix all the other ingredients, salt & pepper to taste.
Pour over the tofu slices. Leave to marinade for <15 mins.
(you can leave over night in the fridge)

On a hot grill pan brush some veggie oil, and grill the tofu slices in a single layer basting with the marinade liquid. Turn over every min and baste till all the marinade is used up. (discard the garlic slices)

Serve as a starter or side dish.

It took me 4 times to like tofu. The 4 times, the tofu went straight into the garbage can. You just need to find the one recipe that you will like. Until you find that one item, you may have misconception about tofu, and even give up trying. Now I love tofu. I am glad I was persistent.

You can fool your taste buds if that's what you mean. A few weeks ago I had tofu stuffed ravioli. I couldnt tell that it was not ricotta cheese. Try the same method with lasagna. I am not sure what type tofu you would use (firm, soft etc).

Amy's Kitchen has a soup called "no chicken noodle" and it has small cubes of tofu in it. It has the flavor of the broth. You can try that or make your own soups with tofu.

You can try cooking it in different ways. For example, fried tofu is much tastier than raw tofu.

But really, you don't have to eat tofu just because you are vegetarian. Don't force yourself. There's plenty of other vegetarian food.

well, yeah you can "train" your body to like something.
what i did was (because believe me, at first i hated tofu, it made me wanna vomit :S) that i went to a korean restaurant in my city and ordered every single tofu dish they had (one each day so i could feel the taste better) and then when i found one i loved i started getting that one all the time.
Now, since you will sooner or later get bored after eating it so much, you should browse for some other recipes online (www.vegcooking.com works great for me) and then do the same thing, try to find a recipe that you like.
I hope you enjoy, tofu is great and its got so many proteins you wont believe it

I'm with veganlicious, szechaun tofu or tofu with garlic sauce from a Chinese restaurant is usually really good especially if you like spicy food. Deep fried anything is usually tasty (although not overly healthy), and tofu is no exception in my opinion.

I am also not a huge fan of tofu, but there are a few ways I have found to work it into my diet.

1. use some of the softer in place of cream cheese in dip mixes.
2. there is a mix by Fantastic called tofu scramble that is a scrambled egg thing.
3. fried or stir fried in some sort of stir fry sauce.

Hope that helps

Go to a restaurant that serves it. Like some Chinese food restaurant and order a dish with tofu. Thats how I started to like it. I hated it at first and now I am okay with it. I got the szechuan tofu , it's fabulous. Look around in your local listings for a good veggie restaurant and go..they cook it everyday, it should be good.

Also go to http://compassionatecooks.com/r/egglessegg.htm
for the eggless salad. I made it for my husband and kids and they went crazy over it and my husband hates any thing that has tofu in it.

Just some ideas!!
