I'd skip the soup all together and go for something hearty like a big bowl of dahl (kind of a spiced Indian lentil stew) and a thick slice of bread. Thinking about it almost makes me wish for colder weather.

When I go fishing during the winter months I take a flask of Tomato & Muligatawny soup mixed together and it keeps me warm right down to my cockles.

Cream of vegetable soup is lovely. But Tomato and Onion soup with a bit of corriander tossed on is a close second

I like roasted mediterranean vegetable soup with a touch of chili for good measure. Add a little swirl of soured cream and a little garnish and enjoy.

I love lentil soup but equally I love potatoe and leak - but I am a big soup fan,
parsnip and curry really warms you up - it carries a kick, lump of crusty bread... makes you want winter to be here.
