It is possible for anyone to get diabetes. Having diabetes in your family does substantially increase your risk.

That said, it does not necessarily mean that you have diabetes or even pre-diabetes even with the results of the blood glucose meter reading.

You must , however be very careful for the rest of your life. Do not be overweight . Ge exercise and eat a healthy diet. Keep the carbs and the sugars under control.

See a doctor who has more specific test at his disposal to make sure that you are OK.

Good luck.

Because you have family members with diabetes, that increases your risk for getting it at some point in your life. But there are other risk factors that you can control, i.e. your weight. Make sure you keep your weight in the normal range, and that is one thing that you can control. 93 is normal though. You want to keep the fasting blood sugar under 100. The glucose monitors generally are accurate. They are what doctors recommend for diabetics to test with at home.

Getting the blood work done will tell the tale. There is lots of research still being done to help diabetics. And I don't think 93 is all that bad.

If you don't worry about it, you will have more energy and find that after all is said and done, it is not the end of the world. It is a shame that so many people have blood sugar problems.

A lot of it has to do with the refined sugars we eat and they are EVERYWHERE. If you genuinely want to maintain good blood sugar levels, start doing a bit of reasearch on what it is you are putting into your body ...
Good Luck on your test.

The monitors are usually accurate. 93 is normal and you don't just "get" diabetes. It develops. But there is nothing that you have put in your question that could lead a person to believe you are developing diabetes. You didn't state having any symptoms and the blood glucose is good. So relax and don't stress over it unless there are other indicators to make you think you are developing it.

Treatable levels for Glucose that are 120+ are considered to be Diabetic. Your blood sugar is well within the acceptable levels. Because of youtr family history with Diabetes, I would get your blood sugar /Glucose levels checked a few times a year. There are a multitude of sysmptoms you will notice that are warning signs..Constant thirst, Frequent urination, (even at night) are the most frequent signs of Diabetes onset.

there are 3 diabetics in my family and one takes a shot and the others are on pills but diabetes goes both ways anything above 150 is bad. so 93 is OK but you should still pay attention the symptoms are thirst, urinating alto and dizziness's there are more but you can search web MD for more info.
