I've never had discharge from a genital herpes outbreak. The sores can puss and have discharge, but not the vagina itself.
Some people can get discharge, but it's not that common.

Erm... I never get vaginal discharge... herpes is a skin infection which causes sores, rather than a bacterial infection which causes unusual discharge because it is infecting the vaginal canal... I just get outbreaks of sores on my labia but no difference internally.

My best friend has had genital herpes for about eight months now, and it's been really rough. She's had about 7 outbreaks. Everywhere I read it says it stops flaring up so much after time, but its not getting less frequent for her. She's been on Antiviral meds the whole time, too. She also has type 1 diabetes which she has had her whole life, which really weakens her immune system. Will it ever get better?

There is no discharge herpies causes sores either internal or external that look like canker sores that you get in your mouth. If you have a discharge you may have a yeast infection or some other STD you might want to go to the doctor to be safe.
