I get them also. The only way I can control them is to relax and breathe slowly. Caffeine makes it worse. SO I close my eyes and think happy thoughts and concentrate on my breathing. Are you okay girl?

;Palpitations can either be benign or could be due to something more serious than anxiety. You should go see your Doctor . You think it may be anxiety, but you really don't know. Do You? It depends on how often you get them, the time of day or night; do they bother you after doing some strenuous activity; do you drink alcohol or do drugs? all of these factors have to be explored before you can dismiss palpitations as maybe being part of anxiety. There are medications which can control palpitations due to anxiety. Your best bet is to see a Doctor ASAP.

You need to see doctor, get EKG and possibly other tests to see if this is serious. Some palpitations are life threatening, others are no big deal.
YOU NEED TO FIND OUT WHAT YOU HAVE.

(Antidepressants are not given for heart palpitations!

That's pretty common with anxiety and hormone related issues with women too. I get them now and then. I went and got my heart checked out completely and all was well. He just told me to avoid caffeine, get proper exercise (to help with the anxiety) and learn different ways to relax more. I still get them right before my period comes. He said that was ok and not harmful.

Yes, you can begin to meditate regularly. When you're practiced in meditation, and deep awareness, anytime your heart palpitates you will be able to control it.

Yes it can be due to anxiety as well, we perform the Valsalva massage in the side of the neck (not in old persons), or place him on Atenolol.
However Yoga helps too.
Avoid risk factors.
