Your sugar levels are probably to high or to low. Yes this will make you tired if they are off.Are you checking your blood sugar level when you are feeling so tired? Check blood sugar regularly. This is very important and can be dangerous.See your doctor if it is not under control so that he/she can adjust or change your medication.

Get your med bottle or go online and see what the possible side effects are. It could cause drowziness. But as a Type 1 diabetic taking Glyburide I also get the bouts of doing nothing but getting off work at 2:30 pm napping for 3 hrs getting up for 4 and then sleeping all night. But I would talk to my doctor and see if there might be a different med

Low energy and sleepiness may be caused by a number of things including diabetic indicators, depression, other illness, etc... only a Doctor can tell the difference so discuss this with your doctor. If it is your glucose level the Doctor can change your meds or suggest diet changes. You should be able to control your glucose and feel normal. Sleeping all the time is not normal. Get help.

I am diabetic too, and have done extensive research on the subject.
The latest findings say that depression, which seems to be what you are describing, is very prevelant in diabetics.
I would mention it to your physician and see if he concurs that you are depressed. If you are there are some great meds out there which will help you immensily.
Good luck and if you need to talk, e-mail me.
