I'm moving and I have this 55 gallon drum full of used motor oil and a 10 gallon can of contaminated diesel fuel that I don't know what to do with. My neighbor says he usually just dumps his down the sewer drain but I'm not sure that's legal. Was thinking of just dumping them into an estuary out in the sticks but the road out there's pretty muddy this time of year.

You certainly found the way to rile up the natives! You should take the oil and diesel with you when you move. You never know when you are going to need to burn some old tires and there is nothing like diesel fuel for getting them started. And, 55 gallons of used motor oil would be pretty handy for knocking down the dust in a driveway. Or you could set up a Sealcoat business. Offer to sealcoat peoples driveway for $250 and by the time they figure out the oil is never going to dry, you would be long gone. Big bucks in sealcoating!

You've got to be kidding.

Please, take your chemicals to a proper hazardous waste disposal facility.

Dumping waste like that into the ground, or into a body of water, means it will eventually get into the ground water, and contaminate your areas drinking water. This will cause disease and sickness down the line for the residents affected.

Mix it with your morning coffee or take it to a hazardous wast facility.

Dumping your waste in the sewer or stream in most places will get you a big fine and maybe jail time.

I can't believe this question! I hope your neighbour gets caught.

Instead of putting it in a river, you could just stop by a dumpster and throw it in there. I don't know if that's legal either, but just make sure nobody is looking

WHAT THE **** IS WRONG WITH YOU, THINKING OF THROWING IT IN A HABITAT FOR LIVING THINGS (HUMANS AREN'T THE ONLY THINGS ON THIS EARTH) FIND A HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION CENTER AND THEY WILL TREAT THE PROBLEM RESPECTIVELY.
