.. I mean without a Tandoor. I've heard you can use a pressure cooker heated inside out and then put it on the hob and cook the bread on the sides. I've a feeling this will burn the *** out of my pressure cooker and the results will not be very good..so your experiences would be welcome.

I have baked them in a regular oven on a clay tile, or been absolutely lazy and picked them up at Trader Joes. I can't imagine attempting to bake in my Fagor which is a high pressure steamer.

I just made naan last night using the Golden Temple Naan Bread mix, it came out very well and it's easily available in any Indian grocery store.

Your home oven will be fine, just crank it up to 450/500 deg F.
Or some people grill them on a bbq. Those are good too.

The pressure cooker will just cook them, the naans wont be crisp. That whole process just sounds a bit scary & suspect.

Deep fried versions are called bhaturas and taste delicious, esp when eaten with chhole.

Yes...I asked for a naan recipe on yahoo answers, and someone gave me a good recipe. I put it on a regular pan, and it was very nice.

Yes, try using Joy of Cooking's recipe for pizza dough. I've tried it and it works just great.
