Maybe a day or two. Without insulin, our primary cellular fuel, glucose, cannot enter the cells to do it's job... provide energy. Our cells would literally starve to death in a matter of hours.
The answer below is absolutely preposterous. DI has nothing to do with insulin. It has to do with inability to retain WATER. Nothing at all to do with insulin.
"DI should not be confused with diabetes mellitus, which results from insulin deficiency or resistance leading to high blood glucose. Diabetes insipidus and diabetes mellitus are unrelated, although they can have similar signs and symptoms, like excessive thirst and excessive urination."

A few days at most...probably much less than that.
Without insulin, sugar will build up to extremely high levels in the blood and urine, leading to DKA and if not treated, death.
Even missing one dose of insulin for an insulin dependent diabetic can have dire consequences.

back up..if a person is insulin dependent and they miss a dose they can die within hours...not days!! same goes if they don't eat something and become low...and do not correct themselves...they go into diabetic shock and die.

not really sure but not too long if you need to give self shots. it could be couple days maybe. it depends on how fast the sugar goes up.

The disease is called diabetes insipidus. With absolutely no insulin it is possible to survive for a surprisingly long time, months at least.
