You can BBQ firm or extra firm tofu. But... if you are not eating meat for ethical/moral reasons you would probably not want to have your tofu anywhere near bits of animals being cooked.
I would suggest that you do a tofu scramble.. recipes abound on the Internet... and then take it with you if you can't make it at the family house. You can eat that warm or hot or even cold.. with salad and other veggies that are not done on the grill near the meat.

You most definitely can, just make sure you use a firm tofu, and don't cut it too thin or it might break easily, i usually make them about 2cm (bit less than an inch) thick, then i marinade it in 1/3 soy sauce, 1/3 sweet chilli sauce, 1/3 ketjap manis (Indonesian sweet soy, sometimes spelt kecap manis) and mix in a liberal amount of crushed garlic and grated ginger, let that sit for a few hours, and its beautiful when cooked.
P.S. If you can't find ketjap manis but it interests you i have found a recipe here: http://www.gourmetsleuth.com/ketjapmanis.htm

You'll actually be grilling, and yes you can grill firm or extra firm tofu. You'll want to grill before everyone else does or put aluminum foil on the grill before you cook so you don't get meat residue on your food. And make sure you make something for everyone there so they'll know just how fabulous vegan food can be!
And I agree that veggie burgers or Gardenburger Riblets (which you can also stick in the micro) would work quite well.

Yes, the hard variety, not the soft one.
You can also barbeque hamburger and hotdog lookalikes that are made of tofu.
Ask the host for vegetable kebabs, chunks of green and red or orange peppers, white mushrooms, zucchinis, and parboiled baby potatoes on a stick.
Although a bit expensive, portabello mushrooms with olive oil and balsamic vinegar can also be roasted and they are very delicious.

You definitely can. Try cutting it (extra firm works best) into strips and soaking overnight in your favorite marinade or barbeque sauce. While barbequeing, put it on some oiled foil and brush with marinade periodically while it's cooking.

You can BBQ anything you like. I can't guarantee it will taste nice or stay in solid form.
