I am a diabetic but don't really know when I should check my sugar. Do you wait a certain amount of time after eating to get a more accurate reading.

That depends on whether you're type 1 or type 2 and lots of other variables. First of all, you should always check it in the morning before eating. Then, two hours after eating is a good rule of thumb. If you're type 1 and using insulin, before bed is not a bad idea. I'm type two and watch what I eat very carefully because I don't want to get out of control and end up taking insulin. I take my sugar measurement in the morning before eating and the only other time is whenever I suspect something might be wrong. As long as I'm eating right and exercising daily, the numbers vary very little. I'm not recommending this, just saying that good management can allow you some leeway. If you're not sure, stick with what I said in the first part. Beginner's must do a lot of research on their own. Doctors often seem reluctant to spend the time necessary to properly educate you. Can't imagine why... (gotta get that next $patient$ in here).

I check 6-8 times most days, but sometimes even more than that. If I am doing anything unusual with my schedule, or if eating new things, I check more often. Other than that, I check at different times during the day, and night. I need to know what is going on with my sugars all the time. I don't think that there is a certain time for diabetics to check.

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.

Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

There is no single best time, it's best to get several measurements per day. Ideally, for most people, the most you would need to do is 3 times daily, once before breakfast, once before lunch, once before dinner, and once before bed. Talk to your doctor to see if he thinks that it's necessary to measure your blood glucose that often though, and in some cases it's helpful to take measurements two hours after meals, but only in certain cases, I wouldn't do it unless your doctor asks for that information.

Check your B.S. level first thing when you wake up in the morning. Then one hour after each meal, and than one hour before bedtime.
