Absolutely.
Condoms are very effective against the spread of STDs, but they are never truly 100% effective, especially with direct SKIN to SKIN contact STDs like herpes and HPV. Condoms can break, slip off, etc. The only thing that is 100% effective is abstinence.
And, even if a condom is used it is ONLY covering the penis, not the ENTIRE genital area. This is why herpes and HPV can be spread even when condoms are used. Just the direct skin to skin contact of the genital areas during sex is enough to spread either one of these viruses.
Take care!

Yes. There are numerous STDs that you're not really protected by from condoms.
Condoms do normally and are the best way to protect yourself from STDs, however, as Jonathan R said, they're not 100%.
You can get genital herpes (HSV) even when using condoms. Genital herpes can be in many areas on a woman (or man) that condoms do not protect. If a persons has a sore, or is about to have an out break, and it is on their external area where a condom does not protect(the sides of a persons genital area, buttocks, etc) you become suseptible to receiving the virus~bad mojo!
The same goes for genital warts (HPV). The growths can appear on a persons anal area, and the sides of the genital area and are highly contagious~ew! This virus does not necessarily show up in men even if they have it. Some get warts, however, others just carry it (their scrotum) and are contagious.
Condoms are a great thing, but are also not foolproof. They can break, and can also have defects, just as any other item you buy.
It is always safest to use condoms, however, knowing about your partner, I mean really knowing their history, and being choosy, monogamous, and/or celibate is the best way to go...especially in this day and age with the HIV, hep B and C, chlamidia, gonorrhea, etc. Some you can rid yourself of...some, as you know, you can't!
I know this is probably not what you wanna hear, (monogamy, celibacy, etc.) but believe me, when you get to be my age...36...uggg, you'll be glad you were! I'm thankful every day I've never received anything from some of the cheaters I had married who NEVER wore condoms.
Good luck and just be safe and I know this was a lot, but I hope it helped!

Yes you can still get a STD even when using a condom, try using a female condom, it will protect you more from skin to skin contact when used correctly.

YES...YOU COULD CATCH HERPES OR HPV EVEN WITH CONDOM USE...THEY ARE IN THE SKIN AND EVEN IF THERE IS NO OUT-BREAK THE VIRUS REMAINS ACTIVE IN THE SKIN SO SKIN TO SKIN CONTACT CAN CAUSE YOU TO CATCH THE VIRUS..KINDA SUCKS NO MATTER HOW CAREFULL YOU ARE YOU ARE STILL AT RISK..
