purple,
Probably not.
You can lower your hypertension with relaxation techniques only if your hypertension is caused by stress.
If it is of a clinical origin, then no.
Now, there are many causes of hypertension, such as:
hypothyroidism
hypercalcaemia
stroke
drugs (prescribed ones, not the recreational type)
type 2 diabetes
anemia
renal artery stenosis
some kidney diseases
As you might guess, using your mind in any of these situations will not help, for it is not the mind that causes teh hypertension.
A question: Why wouldn't you want to take medication for it? Hhypertension medication has been around for a very long time as these drugs go and have a very good track record. If you have hypertension I would strongly recommend that you take medication for it. The risks of having it far outweigh the risks of taking blood-presure medication.

Hmmm maybe...it's all about mind control. If you learn how to relax, perhaps through meditation or something, you could probably control your blood pressure without taking medication. I'm sure it's been done before. Try freeing your mind...

Certain relaxation techniques will lover your blood pressure for periods of time. However patients with a formal hypertension diagnosis are unable to avoid medication anyway.

Yep. Don't count on it though. You cannot avoid stress in your life. If you have been diagnosed by a doctor, take the medication! Once the damage is done, it may ruin your life.

Read Dianetics, the modern science of mental health.
It explains how the mind controls the body's mechanical functions and how you can be in control of them.
