I took my blood pressure 3 times in 5 minutes. The first one was 123/72, the second one was 151/82 and the 3rd one was 119/84. In under 5 mintes this seems crazy to me. I don't feel dizzy or anything. Is it just that maybe my monitor isn't good? Or is this kind of reading possible? Can it be my nerves? I was nervous taking my pressure.

By the way, the reason I was taking it is because I had "borderline high blood pressure" due to my wacky nerves when I was pregnant with my son last year and now I just found out I'm having another baby!

Your experience is absoltely normal. That's how the cardiovascular system works.

If it didn't, you'd be abnormal, and soon die.

When someone tells you "It should be 120/80" they're only parroting what they've read. -or been told. -It's tosh. ....we're all the same, -our B/P's vary hugely every minute of every hour of every day. Think of it as being like your hands on the driving wheel, on a 300 mile straight road in Arizona....if your hands didn't move, you'd end up in a dry wash, wouldn't you?

Please leave the machine alone OK, get a paramedic, or doctor to examine your BP.
