Oh, planning kid parties is so much fun! Okay, if she hasn't had one already, I would do a tropical themed party.
Hang two shades of blue crepe paper alternately in every doorway of your house (or wherever you are holding the party). You can do the same thing all the way around the present table.
You can also hang it from the ceiling all the way around the snack table. Do it about a foot away all the way around the table, so there's enough room to move around. This way, the kids will have fun going through the "waterfall" to eat their snacks!
Get a confetti cake decorated with fish and/or a mermaid.
You can find plenty of games online that are tropical themes, like "pin the nose on the dolphin," "pop the bubbles," etc...
(Pop the bubbles is really simple. Blow up a bunch of blue balloons. Divide the kids into two or three teams and place [the number of kids on each team] balloons in separate lines at one end of the room.
Then, line the teams up in those two or three lines, at the opposite side of the room and on "go" they have to take turns running to the balloons, grabbing one, and sitting on it and popping it!
Whichever team pops all their balloons first wins the game!)
Have fun!

don't hire a magician because its naff & u might have to pay through the nose! organise fun events like nail painting & face painting or maybe even a fancy dress party & who ever has the best costume wins a prize but then make sure the other kids have a little prize or a lil bag or sweets ! make sure u dnt let the kids do their own thing because they will find it boring & more importantly might wreck something! good luck xx

A fancy dress party with games such as pass the parcel and musical bumps or chairs or statues. Have finger food like mini sausages and biscuits and pizzas. Don't forget some healthy food like carrot sticks.

Have finger foods and play lots of games because kids love games. The last thing you want is kids throwing up from too much food while playing games. Play games like musical chair, treasure hunt, etc...

Facepainting is good. Also someone who can play some music and get them dancing. A lucky dip might be fun. Are they a bit old for a treasure hunt?
