Yakisoba is easy. You can buy packets of noodles that come with the sauce in the asian section of some grocery stores, or the asian grocer's. All you have to do it fry up some chicken (or beef or shrimp), then add the noodles and veggies of your choice, per the instructions on the package. It's one of the easiest Japanese dishes you can make, since it's basically a whole meal you can cook up fairly quickly in a single pan.

I love beef or chicken terriaki with rice and all the vegetables. It's really not very difficult to prepare. You simply get fresh veggies that you like. Bean sprouts, cabbage, broccolli, carrots, onion, mushroom and quickly saute them together, covered, but only for a few minutes. You chop the preferred meat into small pieces and saute it.......use some terriaki sauce on both.

Serve in a bowl with rice on the bottom then the veggies and meat over, top with a little terriaki sauce and it tastes great.

A soy based sauce would be good. They eat rice at almost every meal and fish. Make it colorful and well presented as a real Japanese would. Seaweed wrapped rice with salmon, fish-based soup and hot tea. Serve with chopsticks.
