High blood sugar level means that your blood sugar count is out of its normal range. People (Diabetics) with high blood sugar experience Hyperglycemia and various symptoms. High blood sugar needs to last over a period of time before the person experiences symptoms. Diabetics usually get high blood sugar from too little insulin intake or too much carbohydrate intake. Non-Diabetics have a regulating pancreas which excretes certain amount of insulin to keep their blood sugar under control. Consequences of having high blood sugar over a LONG PERIOD of time include problems with your kidneys, eyes, and other vital body parts, as well as impotency. I hope this helps(:

How do you know its high ? Did you have it tested if so your doctor should have explained it to you. Or do you just feel that its high ? In any case get a fasting blood test done and it can give the 3month average of your blood sugar. That result will confirm if you may have diabetes. If you do talk to your doctor and set up a management plan to control it.

the doctor will tell you 150 or higher is bad. well at 100 it starts to begin the start of runing your organs but it does take time to do this. you need to start 100 and less it should stay. if it should go above this point you need to be on shots or meds right awy and test your blood every 4 hours. it means there is less insulin in your body to break down the sugar and therefore that is why you have shots or meds to help your system.

High blood sugars means that your pancreas isn't properly metabolizing your food intake. A non-diabetic person does not get high blood sugars. A diabetic gets them from not producing enough, or any insulin to convert the carbs they eat into usable energy in their bodies.

if you have abnormally high blood sugar over a period of time it could be the onset of diabetes. Look this up on the search engine and it can be dangerous if left unchecked ..Your insulin production could be lacking and eating too many carbohydrates as well as sugar can cause this.

In agreement with plants4fun, I'd like to add that abstaining from carbohydrates can reverse high blood sugar levels. When i say abstaining, I don't mean exclude all carbs but avoid the obvious foods that are high in sugar and carbohydrates such as candy, cookies, flour, breads, rice, potatoes and their by-products.
