Benefits of flax seed as shown in many studies include lowering total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol (the Bad cholesterol) levels. Other benefits show that flax seed may also help lower blood triglyceride and blood pressure. It may also keep platelets from becoming sticky therefore reducing the risk of a heart attack.

Sprinkle ground flax seed on your cereal and salads.
Substitute flax seed mixture for eggs in home baking such as muffin and pancake (1 tbsp milled flax seed, plus 3 tbsp water = 1 egg). Final products will have less volume and taste gummier.
Include in other recipes when nutty flavor is preferred.
Substitute flax seed oil for other oils.

well this is not for diabetes, is another things that you can use for diabetes like bitter melon juice, antickes, fennel tea, etc. Flax seed is only fiber, this can help you to move things from your intestines, is some thing like a goos exercise for the intestines.
If you really need a diabetes treatment seeked with a professional, this will give you better results.

Whole grains are high in Omega 3 are good for diabetics. They reduce swelling. The whole grains curb your hunger. See www.drmirkin.com There you will find a whole section on diabetes. As well as information on eating whole grains, omega 3, and flax seeds.

Flax seed has Omega 3 fatty acids that are good for your cholesterol ratios. You can sprinkle them on a salad or bake bread, muffins or anything else with them. They also produce a laxative effect if constipation is a problem.

yes, especially since fish oil is NOT recommended for a diabetic. it's a good source of omega 3. so is salmon and walnuts.

i have added it to oatmeal, turkey meatloaf, yogurt, even oatmeal cookies.

you can also buy it in capsule form.

It's really not bad. It's a bit grainy but the tiny seeds can be mixed with your oatmeal or used as a rub on meat... be creative; it's really versatile.
