We are invited to a camp-out tomorrow night & the invitation said to bring a snack to share... The problem I am running into is we will be outside so there isn't a way to keep anything cold & I'm not sure if I can plug a croc-pot in or anything(wanted to bring a nacho dip)... Looking for some ideas! :)

Puppy Chow
Sounds weird, but it's a crowd favorite and very, VERY easy to make. Essentially it's Chex Mix covered in this wonderful chocolate and peanut butter confection and dusted with powdered sugar. (Recipe in sources.)

Plus it stores easily in a plastic bag or tupperware-style container.

texas caviar is a great dip. It is served cold and room temp so it will be great camping. Just search for the recipe at some of the recipe sites. It is made with canned black eyed peas and italian dressing. Plus much more.

Make premade smores. Just stack the ingredients and put as many as you want in the oven for a couple mintues, freeze or refrigerate them and you have a cold snack.

Or if its for older people make up a cheese plater with brie, a hard blue cheese, and what ever other cheese and crakers you like.

You could take the cold cheese dip they sell near the chips(I think my store carries "Tostitos" brand). It doesn't need to be refrigerated until it is opened and it makes a good cold dip. If you find that you can plug in a crockpot then you could heat it if you wanted to.
