before my wife's death june 18 2006 - I was on a minimal dose of blood pressure meds, then m y blood pressure kept going up and up - it was starting to come down some and then my dog died August 8th and it's been fairly high since
I exercise daily-I usually exercise a minimum of 30 minutes a day of cardio and I usually get an hour or so. I also follow a low fat vegan diet.but now I live alone, my family is out of state(need help to move), only 3 people have stayed in touch with me since my wife died 2 out of state, and the other is out of town as well about 2 1/2 hours away - I go to the gym almost daily - I still am on disability - I'm still doing physical therapy - but I have no social support here, I do try but everyone vanished and it takes time for me to get to know new people.I've been to a grief counselor since november, grief groups didn't work for me - women call each other, nobody supported me,so why have men come? I haven't been able to cry-all bottled up inside.. thanks

Hypertension is sustained elevation of resting systolic BP (≥ 140 mm Hg), diastolic BP (≥ 90 mm Hg), or both. Hypertension with no known cause (primary; formerly, essential hypertension) is most common; hypertension with an identified cause (secondary hypertension) is usually due to a renal disorder. Usually, no symptoms develop unless hypertension is severe or long-standing. Diagnosis is by sphygmomanometry. Tests may be done to determine cause, assess damage, and identify other cardiovascular risk factors. Treatment involves lifestyle changes and drugs, including diuretics, β-blockers, ACE inhibitors, angiotensin II receptor blockers, and Ca channel blockers.

there is a case in which you cannot lower your blood pressure, but thankfully you can control it. it's when high blood pressure is inherited. did your parents have that problem too? have you seen a doctor? i'm really sorry about your loss, maybe psychological factors affect this as well. if you feel grief groups is not your things you should stop. do sth that you really enjoy and that it offers you a lot. going to the gym was a very good idea. and remember, that life goes on. it is always darker before the rainbow appears.

Well Art...we can't help you...you obviously need something or somebody, but this isn't it.
Do you feel like you can get a new pet ???
If you need some help with that,
www.petloss.com. I belong and you can talk in there. We all know about losing family, human and 4 legged.
You need to join some groups ??? Find a new hobby ??? Get your family interested in your welfare...something...
You have to be willing to put yourself out in the world to find people....shy doesn't cut it anymore. (not like back before 1970.)
Good luck !!! [[[ ]]]
