stick with vegetable broth, and read the ingredient label if you're still not sure.

chicken broth contains the "juices" of a chicken. it is not vegetarian, like chicken fat is not vegetarian. it may not be meat, but it still is coming from an animal.
you can either use vegetable broth or some "no chicken chicken broth" (at your local health food store).

Well, it really all depends on your idea of what a vegetarian is.
If it's no meat then yes it's vegetarian. There is no meat in it.
If it's no animal products at all no. The broth has chicken fat in it. Depending on what kind you buy it can have alot of fat or just a tiny amount.
No animal products at all is called vegan.

Vegetarians don't eat meat. Comes down to you view that as "eating meat". Most would say it does. But if you boil the chicken, then take the chicken out of the pot and only eat the soup without any chicken peices it could be said you didn't eat any chicken.
And there is a minority opinion that chicken is not meat.

Last I checked, there were not vegetarian/not vegetarian police running around.
You can eat whatever you want, and you don't have to answer to anyone.
But, if you want to call yourself a vegetarian and not lie? No... you probably shouldn't eat the chicken broth.
