Ok so I had a lung biopsy on the 16th of July and a chest tube the chest tube was taken out on the 17th and I was discharged on the 17th then readmitted on the 18th because I couldnt breathe, a week later I developed a pneumothorax and had to have a chest tube put in again, that was in for a week then I was discharged for a week but came back with a collapsed lung this time. My question is after the surgery the part underneath my boob between where the cleavage is is numb, my doctor said that some nerve endings where probably hit and they would eventually go back to normal but it's been a month now already. Is this normal? If you have no experience with this then please don't waste my time

Yeah, sounds like nerve damage, better to have it numb than painful. It takes about 1mos for every 1mm of nerve endings to heal. So this may take some time. Don't know that there is anything you can do about it.

I don't have any experience with it but your Doctor sounds right about some nerve endings were hit. Numbness usually lasts up to a few months. When you visit your Doctor, always explain any feelings you feel like sudden shots of pain, or discomfort. But at this point, the only thing you can do is wait it out.

I had some nerve damage from surgery on my neck. The area around the 4 inch incision was numb and it took about 6 months to regain sensation fully around that area, although the incsion itself feels pressure it does feel normally.
