Ah, yes. The processed foods trap. That's probably why you've been feeling kind of bad lately. Most newbies go through this - as they adjust to teh lifestyle, they tend to eat a lot of processed foods - including a large amount of dairy.

My advice would be to (obviously) lay off the junk food. Try to eat fresh fruit and veggies for snacks - like apples, bananas, baby carrots, celery sticks, etc. You could also eat some nuts for snacks as well - just a small handful per day provides you with good fats. Don't eat those salty @$$ peanuts, rather, eat almonds, cashews or walnuts. Even a box of raisins will help.
If you can, try to eat a salad once per day (with your dinner or something). That way, you get fibre and raw vitamins and minerals.
Good luck!

Your body might be reacting that way because you're eating more fruits and vegetables and healthier foods, which your body has to get used to. Amazingly, many people that eat an unhealthy diet that rarely consists of plant sources find themselves taking meds so they feel better when eating salads. Just let your body get used to the change and believe me, your body will feel BETTER later on. Every vegetarian and vegan I've talked to has had these problems in the beginning and then it goes away.

Also, it's quite a possibility you could be feeling this way from dairy. Many times vegetarians will increase their dairy and egg intake, both which aren't naturally digested by the humyn body.

Some snacks I'd suggest are fresh fruits and veggies, cereal and Tofu2Go. Tofu2Go is little packs of soft flavored Tofu. They're tasty and you can find them in King Soopers (Kroger, City Market) Grocery stores. My favorite is Strawberry but they come in quite a few flavors.

Try snacking on an apple, pear, banana or orange. A plastic baggie with cereal or granola. Plain popcorn. Grapes, strawberries.

what kind of diet did you have before you went vegetarian? if you were eating mostly processed foods for instance and then switched to mostly unprocessed, your body might be reacting to the change.

I don't think it has anything to do with being vegetarian. Maybe it's something you are eating (not what you're not eating) or something else. Good luck.

Why dont you eat meat? Cows deserve to be killed and slaughtered. Only natural. Do your part to contribute to the food chain!
