Im a 26 year old female, caucasion and I have a history of Pluerisy and Pneumonia. I have also been diagnosed with Sarcoidois in the past but it was later ruled out by my Pulmonary doctor. He has yet to dianose my condition, and sees me after each CT scan but does not give further information or show a huge concern, un like previous physicians. I should also add that i was exposed to asbestos as a child for a long period of time and had many upper respiratory infections in my earlier years.

Four years ago I had lung infiltrates that progressed over a period of several months. By the time I entered the hospital, just rolling over in bed made me gasp for breath. It turned out I most likely had an autoimmune (BOOP possibly)condition but no-one ever knew for certain. Massive amounts of IV steroids cured thte immediate problem but I had to be on prednisone for around eight months.

If your pulmonologist does not seem interested, get another one, just as you would for a hairdresser, car repair place, etc.

There might be a good lung center near you if you live in the US. Look at the latest US News and World Report list:

Don't worship the docs unless they actually help you. You're paying them, not the other way around.

And don't wait too long. Lung transplants aren't easy to get and often are not successful.

You need to see a Dr. and find out what is causing them. This is treatable and should be taken care of as soon as possible. If you are seeing a Dr. ask him to explain exactly what is going on and what you can do to improve the condition. Look up on the internet for a total explanation . Just type in the condition and it will pop up different sites to research.
