whats a good way to entertain friends that come over for an evening bbq? We don't have a pool. What else can we do?

play cards
have a board game like monopoly that several people can play
get a croquet set and have all join it after they eat.. or a badminton game
if you have room on a cement patio or floor inside get some old records like the Hokey Po key and 50's music and do the jitter bug to it
A travel film, not a homemade one. Show for under an hour and then share travel dreams and vacation stories
Hire a tarot reader for the evening

Play games - card games are fun, some of the adult board games are fun (Cranium is great), charades is an oldie but a goodie.
You could set up some of the really old time games like three legged race, racing with an egg on a spoon, that type of thing. They're kind of corny but can be really fun.

Drink some juice make some games play something like frisbee, pin the tail on shrek (at Party City), board games, maybe volleyball, and maybe some music.

Drink, play games like bean bags, throw a football around, have girls in bikinis, have good food. Bring a TV outside and have a game on.

how about horseshores / or tell funny stories that happened to yourselves...
make smores and banana boats on the barbeque//
bring out the chocolate , marshmallow s and banannas
with some ice cream
everyone will have a ball
