Yes, particularly if your stools are dark and/or "tarry". This indicates that you are bleeding in your upper GI tract, and this is generally considered an emergency.
If you are seeing small amounts of (red) blood, this could be anything from hemorrhoids to Crohn's Disease.
Blood in stool can also occur if you are constipated and were straining when going to the bathroom. In this case, a little blood is harmless.
Either way, see your doc.

Anytime you pass blood with your bowel movements, you should be concerned. It may be simple...hemorrhoids...but it could be something a little more serious like a fissure or rectal tear. You should see your doctor about this.
