I'm only 24 and i used to weigh 265. I took off 70 lbs and have went and gotten 2 blood sugar tests in the last year. Both came out normal. Im not sure what the first one was but the second one came out to a level of 81. Is there any possibility of me still having diabetes?

I dont think so. 81 is a little low. If you had diabeties it would be high. Good job on loosing weight!!! I would just congradulate yourself. The only thing else it could be is a thyroid disorder, and you probable got tested for that.

I'm not sure of what the level of 81 is, that sounds quite high considering my mother has diabetes and does daily tests that are meant to be around 7... but that being said, 265 is quite heavy, if much of that is fat, then I do suggest a healthier lifestyle, wether or not you have diabetes it will help you in everything that you do... if you suspect you really do have it, go see a medical professional.

Your blood glucose level (GI - Glycemic index?? or something like that) fluctuates, so depending on when you got tested you may have been low... another indicator of diabetes might be if you get trembles if you don't eat on time...

Again, any improvement in diet and exercise will improve your health don't wait to get diabetes to enforce this change. Even if you don't have diabetes it will still improve your life...

not at a blood glucose number of 81!!! that is completely normal.

You possibly need to drop a few more pounds and watch the carbs in your food plan to make sure you don't start back up the scale again.

Keep up the exercise and good eating habits and you can probably prevent getting diabetes in the anywhere near soon!!

81 is in the normal range, so no I don't think you have diabetes. Relax and keep working on maintaining your healthy lifestyle and keeping that weight off. That's your best bet for not getting diabetes. Congratulations on your weight loss - I know that's hard work!

I'm assuming you live in the U.S. and 81 is a normal blood sugar. If you have other concerns I would see your Doctor!
