A whole day's exercise ---off to the beach in the morning with buckets to collect cockles for the sauce and sometimes so many cockles no room for spaghetti only champagne ---goes well. The cockles were washed in the shower open ones thrown away onions garlic and wine added to the pot. Sometimes a chopped up chili. My husband did the cooking. He came from Trieste. I enjoyed the Italian food. It was really tasty and we had wine with all food. It was also used in the cooking. For sweets he would make zabilionie (forgive the spelling)---egg yolks beaten with castor sugar and marsala served with fingers of sponge---meals to die for !

I love Italian food. Olive Garden is my favorite place to eat. I try to eat someting different everytime I go there!
