Chest pain with MVP is a complication.
Doctor needs to determine how serious her chest pain is. There are medicines to prevent complications and to treat chest pain.
For now, if she has chest pain, REST. She should sit down and rest until it's gone. Of course if pain is not gone in two to five minutes, she needs to call 911.

Check links below for good info on the condition.
National Heart, Lung, Blood Institute is great; very good explanation and illustrations.
Medline has several links and a tutorial that are great.

If mitral valve prolapse causes chest pain or other symptoms doctor might prescribe medicines such as beta blockers to make symptoms better. Rarely antianginal drugs may be prescribed. It`s not generally dangerous. Exercise must be very much limited.
